To my PT Boat Buddies who were there. What was the color of the water in the inlets, say on Green Island. Wasn't it a dark greenish color simular to the Rivers we see today. Could you see to the bottom. I am interested in the color around the docks and close to the shore, for a project we are doing...........

Frank: I would say the water was more light blue than green at Green Island. The water in the lagoon was clear. At the dock the water was 20 - 25 foot deep and you could see objects on the bottom. I was a pretty good swimmer back then. Bob Pratt and I would dive to the bottom and retrieve buckets and items other boats had lost in the water while at the dock.

Thanks CJ

Was there ever a place where the water was not clear, and looked more like a River where you could not see bottom. Sometimes, in some of the photos I have (color) the water looks darkish green. How about at Morobe, or Tulagi.............

Let's tell the truth. Not all night life was boring in the Med. Yes it was when we were confined to Bizerti during the Plague. However, in Italy and France we had some great time off. At night and in new ports, we followed the OFF LIMIT signs posted by the MPs to where the action was. Battle helmets were not needed. However, there were fireworks and excitement. Thanks to those good old Army MPs. They did their job well.

We never lost a man and the OFF LIMIT Joints were covered by all volunteers time and time again.

Any chance we will be sent back ? I hope so, let's go guys.
