AMEN Jeff, those Pirates are rampant and used to hide in plain sight. Now they are right out there in the open without any attempt to disguise the real motives. Eyes wide open will reveal the fine print.
Beautiful job on the boat Stu. Hang on to it tightly.

Hah Scoot good one. They must have been keeping a tight eye on the torpedo juice so had to get creative!

This shot of PT 127 shows some gas cans although they don't appear to be secured for a ride, nor do the water kegs:

Jeff
If this is a 1945 photo, those might be for burning, she sort of looks like she being stripped. What is that circular "porthole" in the back of the dayroom?

I don't know when it was taken Ted but you may be right. Another possibility is solvent for cleaning, I see the engine hatch is off. Probably too much for that though.
I don't know what that hole was for but I'm pretty sure the boat didn't come from Elco that way!

I checked all the 127 pics I had Ted, no others showed the area of the hole. There's always something new to be found in the PT boat world eh Ted?
Stu sent me another photo of gas cans stowed on deck. If not at Samar for burning, maybe for a generator or stove and they couldn't leave them at base lest they walk away? The question "why?" is one that probably only a PT vet can answer:

Probably not Samar; they still have fish in the racks.

Best Regards,
