Great photos; thanks for sharing. Looks like 7 & 8 were built concurrently, 8 being just aft of 7.

Note the cross brace in both photos.

[Thank you sir.

Being physically disabled and over 50 doesn't help. I cannot tell you how many times since 2008 that I've applied for jobs - gotten a call-back and the SECOND they heard I was disabled; they would hang up.

Mr. Ross; may I ask a DUMB question? In the RCN numbers - what does the B stand for?

Thanks Jerry .........

My sister, who owns LABLION did say she'll hire me, but I don't know about doing that. My background is in asbestos claim work; recovering delinquent deductibles .............

We'll see ......... I really do want to be reinstated in my former position. I've been told (by the woman at the United Cerebral Palsy I spoke to) that I do have a right and case for that.

So, who knows ...

Good luck with getting a decent job. I hope you find something you like doing.

I worked in the lab at an asbestos mine. I wore all the proper safety equipment in order to minimalize my exposure. Now I don't need to worry about dying and going to hell. That's because I'm fireproof now. VBG ;<)

As a Canadian I'm interested in the Canadian version of this boat.

Thanks and cheers

Well, everything I have, you guys have or have seen, so why would I bother asking Mr. Washiak to post them. Sorry for being pessimistic (my current personal situation doesn't lend itself to "allow" me to be "positive" or confidant about my abilities as I once was) ... but, I don't have the "ability" to go get photos like someone like Mr. Ross does ....

But, my dumb question to Mr. Ross stands - what does the B in the RCN numbers stand for and what color would the 7,8,9, 3 boats be in RCN service?

Additionally? In regard to the 9? Could you use the AIRFIX RAF ASRL kit to model her?

I know very little about the RCN numbering system and my references don't say much about it. The RCN system appears to somewhat follow the RN system of Alpha-Numeric pennant numbers. V was initially used on motor torpedo boats. PT3 & 4 were initially numbered V262 & V263, but were renumbered B119 & B120 Their RCAF numbers were M413 & M414 but they may also have carried the RCN numbers when they began serving with the RCAF. PT5, 6', and 7 were numbered B117M407, B123/M447, and B118/M408. PT9 was unique in being numbered S09.

8 was not transferred to the RCN. The other boats appear in a number of schemes in the photos I have, but I do not know what the colors were.

Same response as I gave for the conversion to MGB61 - 7 scale feet too short, 3 scale feet too narrow, wrong superstructure; requires major surgery to be even remotely accurate.

OK found the answer to the B pennant numbers:

First off, all of the RCAF boats fleet vessels were given an “M” pennant number. However, M pennants were given to ships of the RCN and RN. But when the RCAF boats operated in the open waters, then they were classified as minor warships and the RCN gave them “B” pennant numbers. So in reality they had two pennant numbers.

Found the info here.

Thanks, Charlie. I had seen this document before, but had not bookmarked it. I have most of Pilborough's works.
