Based on your observations, I took a "look inside" on the Amazon site, too. I'm intrigued!!!! On the surface, it looks like the author did a lot of primary research. The text as presented seems like a confusing collection of notes rather than a narrative; will have to see what the actual book looks like. I'm very curious to see what his comments on the boats themselves are like.

It does sort of pique one's curiosity, doesn't it?

Well, the replacement copy arrived. I'm dumbfounded. I've never seen a mess like this in my life!!
This is not a book. It is a mass of absolutely confusing notes, paragraphs, charts, maps, letters, etc., jumbled together and bound, 500+ pages. I'm sure there's some useful information somewhere in there, but it would take months to decipher.

I'm with you, Al! After leafing through Vol I and spot-reading some pages, it would appear to be meticulously researched, but the veracity of the content is gonna be a mess to decipher. There are probably some real nuggets of info in there - the trick is going to be to get a grip on the whole thing.

Hi everyone,
My vol. I & II of Beachheads Secured arrived two days ago. What a mess! I agree 100% with what Al Ross and Will Day said on the
message board. "It is a confusing collection of nates" about PT boat bases. The English and format are so bad, I failed to understand the
many tables and maps and everything else. There might be some jems in the 1000 pages of information, however, to dig them out is like finding gold in your back yard. What a waste of money and I am stupid enough to ordered two volumes.
