During my most recent visit to Melville, RI, I observed that the torpedo and gun, which were previously positioned next to the plaque, were missing. I attempted to contact both the landowner and the business owner but did not receive a response. I also reached out to PT Boats, Inc., who indicated they were investigating the matter; however, it has been two years without any updates. The removal of these items is deeply disrespectful to the memorial and the veterans it honors. If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of the torpedo and gun, please share.

Thanks Travis for keeping this in the spotlight. It angers me too that somebody just arbitrarily moved the artifacts without so much as checking with the Donor organization. I feel a lawsuit may be appropriate, but I am not the one with legal standing to file suit.
