» Topic: Query = Did 80' Elco wing props counter rotate?
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=966

Hi there.

I always thought that the three props on the 80' Elco boats rotated to the right. A friend of mine claims the two wing props were counter rotating. To me it makes more sense that all three props hade the same pitch and rotation just to make supplies and repairs easier. Is my friend wrong thinking the wing props counter rotated?

Thanks and cheers from PeterTareBuilder

According to the specifications, all three propellers were right handed.

SECTION S44-1.

There shall be 3 aluminum-manganese-bronze right hand turning propellers per vessel. The diameter of the propellers shall not exceed 30 inches. Hub length will not exceed 8 1/2 inches.
