» Topic: Interior Colour Of PT Torpedo Tubes?
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=872

Hi there.

Progress is still being made on my 1/32 scale Lindberg PT boat model. I have the four torpedo tubes assembled and sanded ready for priming. I have removed the four torpedo ends and carefully sanded the interiors of the tubes so they are amooth and with out any bumps. What colour would be right for the interior of these tubes? I was thinking a flat or satin black. I thought that would be appropriate if the torpedos had been launched. Does this sound right to you experts?

These tubes were covered with grease on the interior to insure the torpedo would have a smooth launch. I have one shot of the inside of the tube, but it really does not show much. I would have to say a darker finish to resemble the grease inside the tube. Nothing gloss, thats for sure. Maybe a flat black. Some of the model experts here on the message board will help you in the paint scheme of things, no doubt..........

Hi Frank.

Thanks. The grease is the reason why I was thinking about using a satin black.

I'm hoping some one will confirm that a sa god choice ir tell me what else I could/should use.

I also think that the scale size would make the tube interior look darker/blacker.
