PT 109 GERARD ZINSER

I found this photo, which was given to me by Gerard Zinser, among others. I thought I had mis-placed it. It was taken in 1961 at his home, for his birthday. I loved the Cake, so I thought I would share it with you guys. Zinser as you know was the last survivor who was on PT 109, when she was destroyed. Hope you like the photo.

According to my Snyder & Short color Chart the color appears 5-OG Ocean Green to me.

Frank, I believe that the missing torpedoes were the 'roaming candles' ... which of course had been disarmed and jettisoned (SOP), prior to Mr. Zinzer's performing the act of slicing the boat in half!

I think you are not only correct, but you have soulved a mystery of where the weapons went to. Gerard told me that the first cut of cake, was right where the 109 was hit by the Jap Can ( LOL )......
