Gidday Frank,
Mate ive got a question for you about an item for sale on Ebay Australia. The seller says that it is a 37mm PT Boat Machine Gun cartridge,is there any way to tell that for sure and how?Unless they have positive proof and i dont know how it Seems a bit far fetched to me,but i stand to be corrected.
The item is on www.Ebay.com.au.
Item number 260234590708.
Thanks Mate its good to have experts to ask.

Mike

The boats used 2 different types of shells for their 37MM guns, which are simular to what I see on EBAY. I can't be sure because the photo the seller took does not show the shell in a very good light. Maybe yuu could write to him for a better photo. Also, the shell has no warhead on it, which unless you have one laying around, the shell is just a casing. I would hold off until you can get a better picture of the shell. It seems to be a 37MM Shell, but again I would not pay that much just for the casing.

Thanks Frank,
I contacted the bloke about the shell, and he says he got it off an older gentleman who said it was a souvenir from the PT Boat he served on ,no name no boat number so your right i think, wthout any engravings or plaques to make it stand out it is a bit useless.Oh Well
Thank you for your time,I really hope one day to get to your exibit it looks and sounds fantastic.
CHEERS
