» Topic: Anybody have Stanley Barnes' Ron 15 narrative?
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=746

I've been emailing Harold Nugent's son for a while now...I posted one of the pictures of Nugent and the 210 after the Elba shootout on my site.

He mentioned a typewritten narrative by Stanley Barnes (Ron 15 officer) detailing operations from begining to end. It is different than the war diary and Fred Rosen's narrative on the Peter Tare site. Apparently it is some 30 chapters long; the Nugent family only has 13 of the chapters.

Anybody heard of this? I'm going to get a copy of what I can this week and I'm waiting until after the reunion to call PT Boats to see if they have it all...but if anyone has any info in the meantime I'd appreciate it.

Meanwhile...I'm also going to be getting a copy of the war diary and action reports this week! This is a big deal for me...it'll save me several trips to the National Archives. Stay tuned!

Mr. Stanton,

In the course of my research, I had stumbled across Stan Barnes' narrative, but memory fails me as to where. Try PT boat HQ in Memphis. If it is not there, then I would say it is at the National Archives.

Cheers,

Thanks Gene! I'm hoping it'll be at HQ.
