Hi all,
would anyone know theidentities of the boats involved in the sinking of German DE TA.25, ex-Italian Intrepido. I have all the details of the action except the identity of the 3 PTs involved.
Thanks, Brian

Hi Brian,
i cant find anything on TA25,could it be the TA 26.Both the TA 26 and TA 30 were sunk by PT 558,PT 552 and PT 559. on 15 June 1944.This info comes from Robert J Bulkley's book " At Close Quarters"
Sorry if this is not what your looking for

Michael
PS it probably isnt as i see TA 25 was sunk on 21 June 1944
Could be by same PT's????

Hi Michael,
thanks for the answer. It is quite possible TA.25 fell victim to the same trio of PTs but it is not likely, the AAR is missing.
There is an outside chance the DD hit a mine and the PTs could have been in the vicinity at the time and be incorrectly associated with the sinking.
I have "At close quarters" too, excellent book, though at times it's a little vague on details.

Thanks again,
Brian
