Hello all!

After two months of here-and-there updates, I think it's time to launch www.pistolpackinmama.net all the PT folks here. The site has an explaination of why I did it, but basically it was to share all of the information, photographs, documents, etc. that my grandfather, Jim Stanton (or Pop as we called him) saved over the years.

I wanted to thank the folks here for playing a part in putting it all together. After I had read up on PT's and started scanning Pop's pictures, I shared them here with you folks and was received with a warm welcome and supportive comments. Special thanks goes to Frank Andruss, Russ Pullano and Kent Young for their role in all of this.

This first version of the site details my grandfather's time in the Navy. It's going to be a Christmas gift to my family along with small albums for them containing copies of Jim's photos. If I can get it together in time, I'll also include a short video on my grandparents during WWII. It'll be The Stantons the movie, along with a companion book and website!

Seriously though, as I move forward, I'd like to gather anything I can on Ron 15 and Ron 23 and include it on the site so that it grows into more than just Pop's site.

Take a look, let me know what you think. Sign the guestbook if you'd like, and feel free to make comments, suggestions or corrections here on this thread or by emailing me at stanton@sutv.zzn.com. Thanks again!

- Jim

Jim has done an outstanding job in putting this web site together. I hope that you all take the time to check it out because it is certainly worth looking at. There is a treasure trove of information with wonderful pictures and text. This is certainly a labor of love and I am proud of Jim in all he has done to create the site.

Incredible job! And how appropriate you chose today, Veteran's Day, to announce your official opening! You have my total respect and admiration for this tribute.

No doubt our moderator, Dick Washichek, will see that a link to your website is added to the PT Boats Inc links section so that all can have ready access.

Thanks so much for all the positive feedback from everyone! It was great to read Jerry, Will, Earl, Gary and Shaun's comments in the guestbook...me and my family appreciate it all.

Jerry...getting to see the 658 in person is on my list...I have family out that way and I've been looking for an excuse to visit. And thank you so much for the link...I've done the same for your great organization.
