This posted material is from the MotorBoating magazine 1940 issues:

This posting issues are from the 1940s, again to see if there appeared to be any impact of the ongoing WWII in Europe, on U.S. motor boating. Even though this war had been in full-swing for some time now, United States was acting to support Great Britain. As with the 1939 Issues, I was interested in the tenor of the subject, if any, and what was being written about in specific boating publications, not news related publications.

The following 1940 issues will include several motor torpedo boat related stories, but tis time only a few magazine advertisements (which I have great interest in). Specially from PT manufacturers like Elco and Huckins. However, Higgins doesn’t really enter into advertising in this publication till late 1942 through 1946. Again in this collection of ads, there are no war relate content, simply leisure. This lack of WWII content also continues through the to the 1941 issues as it relates to advertising.

[blue]The Motor Boating magazine publication began in 1907, with publishers including the Hearst’s Magazine Publisher, as well as others. The magazine name was changed in 1970 to “Motor Boating and Sailing”, and again to “MotorBoating” in 2000. The magazine’s publication came to an end in 2011. It was/is a copyrighted publication, and current status or ownership of copyrights since, are unknown.[/blue]
