PT731 CLASS ASSEMBLY MANUALS

According to ELCO documents researched by Andy Small, ELCO created 30 assembly manuals with extensive photos for the boats going to the Soviets as kits. Are there any of these known to exist? If so, where?

Some time back, Chip Marshall informed me that PT Boats Inc. HG had one set. I can't remember if it was a 3-volume or 4-volume set. I tried many, many times to talk Alyce into loaning them out for professional scanning at my expense, but was refused each time for fear of losing them in transport/mail. I was invited to come to HQ and view anytime I wished. Maybe one day before I'm too feeble, I can go there and take my camera and photograph each and every page . . . and reassemble them into a PDF.

I spoke with Alyce this morning about these Manuals and of course Chips vast research. She did not remember having manuals on the Elco boats for your purpose Al, but she will look. She is very firm on not sending any materials in the mail so one day someone or a group of folks should head to Memphis to record some of this material

With the state of our postal system i can't blame Alyce on not sending any docs through the mail. we visited PT HQ in 2019 they were extremely hospitable. Best to all Scott
