Colors on the yardarm
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=5028
Was there a protocol for which side of the mast yardarm the colors were posted on? Talking with Jeff D most in theatre pictures have the colors posted to std
Thanks Mike

I have never seen any official instruction. Most photos I have seen show the Ensign to Starboard. However many PT boats in the Pacific started flying Ensign from the radio whip antenna so they could fly a larger flag that crazy pilots could see from the air to discourage freindly fire accidents. Additionally when the Ensign is on the radar mast it obscures the vision of the skipper when driving. We emulated that method on board PT658 and also cuz its just cool!
