You may well be baffled by these German words but this is the German title of "They were expendable". You may not realize this but this PT (cult)classic was exported throughout the world (just like all other John Wayne movies). The bigger European countries tend to synchronise "foreign language movies" into their own language. (fortunately this is not done in Holland, here they are simply subtitled). I recorded the German version when it was televised by a German tv station some 18 years ago. Just like some of you I used it as reference material to correct the 1:32 Lindberg kit. I can assure you that it's a pretty strange experience to hear John Wayne speaking fluent German. Or to hear "Kennedy"in fluent Italian (I also recorded some fragments from PT 109 when it was televised by an Italian tv station ).

Kind regards,

Arjan
