Here is an interesting photo, was the intent to have an illumination boat accompanying 1-2 PT’s while barge hunting? what a sacrifice in weapons this would have been. Good thing they decided to used 60 mm and 81mm mortars for illumination purposes.

Looks like they removed the straight funnel sections from the cowl vents, usually you see an added section for greater height.
