I should add that Dad skippered PT-525 in bringing General MacArthur to the beach - BOTH times. First time the General's "Life" photographer wasn't there, so an elaborate and long gang plank was built to allow him to get to the beach without getting his feet wet. (Some photos I've seen show some frowing sailors in the background!) Next day, after the photographer had arrived, the event was restaged and MacArthur strode through the water for the famous photo. Anyone else there for the event (s) who has a story to contribute?

Hi George;

Wow. Thanks. In that second photo, I believe I see Dad - back almost to the camera, just on the other side of the front of the torpedo. He was that husky, and it looks just like his profile.

I'll share this with him sometime after he returns from that national, WWII veterans event. The PT-525 crew will be represented!
