I have a opportunity to buy what the seller is calling a PT boat victory flag. Has anyone seen one before? From what I have been told when a PT Boat would sink a barge they would fly this flag in victory, kind of the same theory when a fishing boat comes back they would fly a flag to show what they caught. Any help you be greatly appreciated.

Travis I have been involved with PT BOATS for many years and have never seen this type of flag on a PT. Usually these victories for barges were painted on the boats and no special flag was flown. In fact i am pretty confident that the flag you have is something recently painted and not something from WWII. You can see the kill marks on the 494 in the photo I have enclosed.

NOT ORIGINAL. These are something that some guy makes and sells on ebay. Read his description carefully:

lol the seller has a fitting name, "scattaurus".

Still pretty cool Travis. The Chinese seem to think so too! He does not sound happy about them copying his design.
