1945 Varney PT Boat kit on eBay
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=4881
There's an original Varney PT Boat kit on eBay. Complete and unassembled. It can be yours for $319.00. For the same money you can get a Bluejacket kit with better parts and detail. But if you're into collecting rare kits...

Hmmm it says never assembled but the small inside box has an assembled torpedo tube and the larger box has 3 plain dowels. And the chart house looks like it has the windshield glued on the wrong way, the 90 degree angle seems to be pointing up: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-1945-Elco-Varney-3-16-PT-Boat-Model-Kit-Orig-Box-Directions-Complete-/293023979617
Still, the kit is in nice shape for being so old thanks for pointing it out David.

Looks like the 1/32nd scale Lindberg plastic kit was modeled off this...

Tempting, just because it's a Varney.

$319 is a lot too pricey. I have an old Comet kit paid only $10.
Is the Varney kit that old and worth the price?

Only if somebody pays that much for it. It's an historical kit for sure. Still for sale.
