» Topic: RON12 Crew List Help
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=4822

I am looking for information regarding my grandfather who was assigned to RON12 from what I can tell based on his separation papers. Curious if anybody knows how I could find crew lists for RON12 to see which PT boat(s) he may have been on. His name was Irving Neier. He shared very little about his time in the Navy so hoping to learn a little more.

Thank you in advance,

Mark

According to the book "Hell on Keels" which is about RON 12, he was assigned to the Base Force, not a boat. That doesn't mean he never went out on a patrol on a boat, but the Base Force was his regularly assigned billet.

Interesting, thank you very much! I will look in to getting a copy of that book.

May explain why he never talked about it. He mentioned a couple stories about the Vanderbilts and some stories about Rhode Island but that was about it.
