Hello all, this is my first post as a new member to the forum.
I have recently purchased a WW2 dress blues uniform that was worn by a Petty Officer First Class Torpedo Man. It has the early Disney style PT Boat patch on the opposite sleeve. There is no name anywhere on the jumper but there is on the Cracker Jack pants. I'm hoping that the pants are original to the jumper and not a set thrown together. The name on the pants is V.F. Kays or possibly V.F. Kaus. I would like to find out any information on this man that I possibly can. I have already searched on line all the names of those who were drafted during war time and found nothing. I'm guessing he enlisted and hope that someone here might point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, can't fins a Kays or Kaus in PT boater list or anyone matching the initials and last name on the Navy's muster reports.

Thanks for replying Charlie. I appreciate you sharing that info. I was hoping that the pants and top were a matched set but my gut told me differently. Thanks again.
