MY FATHER JOHN W SULLIVAN GUNNER 3RD. SET OFF ON HIS LAST PATROL NOVEMBER 6 2018. JOHN SERVED ON THE 107 BOAT FROM APRIL 1942 THRU. NOV. 1943 WHEN HE WENT ON LEAVE. JOHN WAS PROUD OF HIS SERVICE BUT NEVER BRAGGED ABOUT IT. HE DID LIKE TO BOAST THAT HE NEVER WENT ON SICK CALL NEVER MISSED A PATROL. HE WAS 18 WHEN HE GOT ON HIS BOAT THE OLD SALTS CALLED HIM KID.
JOHN WAS THE LAST OF HIS CREW OF THE 107.
THE 107 WAS ON PATROL SHOOTING AT JAP DESTROYERS THE NIGHT THE 109 WAS LOST. HE SAID THEY SAW THE FIRE AND DID NOT EXPECT TO BE ANY SURVIORS.
SO WHAT DOES A FARM BOY FROM ILLINOIS KNOW.
I ATTENDED THE REUNION AT DENVER IN 1980 I THINK IT WAS.
I DID NOT APPRECIATE BEING WITH THOSE MEN AT THE TIME.
NOW YOU ARE WITH JESUS I HOPE YOUR CREW IS THERE ALSO
YOUR SON JAMES SULLIVAN

Hi there,

My dad was on PT Boat 221. He was Cliff Anderson. He passed away a little over a year ago. I remember as a kid we went to Al Piotter's restaurant in Wisconsin. I would love to have the diary too that Al put together of PT Boat 221 and Ron 16.

It would be fun if some of the next generation of PT Boat children/descendants could get together for a reunion and keep their legacy alive.

Merry Christmas!

Mark A. Anderson

Hi Mark
I have Al Piotters RON16 PT221 diary on pdf format. His widow Celia gave us a copy at the PT658 a few years back. I made the effort to digitize it just for occasions like this. I can email it to you if you like. I need your email address. Jerry

Condolences to you and your family on the loss of your father. I'm sure he was quite a man. May you sail Sir with fair winds and following seas on your last patrol now to be with your crew forever.
