Blacked out windows

Hello I've painted most of my cabin & cockpit area's now ( PT174) & I suddenly thought are the window's blacked out ?.
Any body know.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think most of the ports (windows) on PTs had either hinged or sliding covers in the interior of the boats to black them out for night ops.
Period photos show that most ports on the forward faces of the chart houses of every type PT that saw combat were simply painted over.
Many period photos also show Stateside 77' Elcos with purpose-made canvas covers hung over the ports on the forward faces of their chart houses.

The photos I have of the interior show a hinged cover that is blacked out on the exterior and white on the interior side of the cover. They are located inside the cabins and the windows are covered with glass.
As Drew stated the windows on the forward part of the chart house are often painted over but just as often left unpainted.
