Thanks Jeff, excellent reference as usual[:-happy2-:]. Any chance to have a hint on the size of this director?
Greetings.

The gentleman selling it mentioned that it is 13.5 inches overall when straight. Also over 8 pounds! Construction is painted or blackened brass. Here's a decent size hint from an Elco drawing:

Jeff, top marks for this one, is the distance indicated on the drawing 7 1/2" ,7 1/4" or 7 1/8"[:-confused2-:]

ELCO_Roll_5535-2_72SCAN_00586.pdf is the right half of the drawing and shows the measurement better:

I am really looking forward to seeing your miniature version of this!

Of course it will Stu. I just hope he doesn't have problems getting TNT for the warheads. Here in the colonies we can easily pick some up at the local hardware store.

Challenged by forum members and inspired by Jürgen Eichardt -see his Fletcher class build in 1/50 scale

http://www.ship-model-today.de/fotoreport.htm

I decided to build the director mainly in brass, with only a couple of smaller details in polystyrene.
The target speed adjusting knobs are a little oversize, will be replaced later on....

What a beautiful little part! Once again excellent work Daniele. You certainly nailed it. [:-cheers-:]

I could spend hours on the Fletcher site you posted a link to and probably will.

Daniele;
Outstanding work!! Your attention to detail is amazing! Your work on your PT 196 reminds me of Master Aircraft Modelers, the late Dr. Young C. Park, DDS(Ret) and Guillermo Rojas-Bazan and David Glen. Keep up the good work!!
Take care,
TED

Daniele,
You never disappoint us. Great work. [:-cheers-:]
I suspected you would rise to the challenge.
Even if I had the tools I could not begin to match your skill.

Best Regards,
Stu.

Thanks to all ,I'd never put myself at the level of the gentlemen Ted W. mentioned in his post...
Lately I have put the boat itself aside and I am focusing on the quadmount and the Bofors gun, and both are turning out nicely.. will keep you updated[:-cheers-:]
