Wooden boat fans have lots of activities to look forward to at this year’s 41st annual Wooden Boat Festival, Sept. 8-10 at Point Hudson.

People come to the Wooden Boat Festival for a lot of different reasons, said Jake Beattie, executive director of the Northwest Maritime Center, which sponsors the event, now one of the largest festivals on the Olympic Peninsula.

The boats are a “changing cast of characters” every year, he said, including some old favorites.

As of Sept. 5, there were 211 registered boats, in the water and on land.

Tall ships include the Pacific Swift, Pacific Grace, Spike Africa, Suva, Zodiac, Providence, Adventuress, Alcyone and Martha.
