Well, I ran across this photo and article and I guess I just couldn't resist sharing with this august body.

And here's our luminary in all his workshop glory, contemplating his latest PT boat and Civil War ship adventures.

A couple of years ago Dr. Ross provided me with a couple of pictures and a brief description of the cockpit area of the Higgins Hellcat PT564. His help went a long way in my understanding of the layout and how to reproduce a 1/20th RC model of the Hellcat.

Hello Larry,

just read your post on Dr. Ross. His help on the Mk 19 torpedo tubes and the drawing of them helped me beyond anything. I only had line drawing of the 78 ft Higgins I got from floating dry dock many years ago.

I look up to Dr. Ross and the many folks here at the forum. Great people !

Keep your powder dry and happy sailing

Bill

I would also like to thank Mr.Ross for making information about pt boats widely avaliable. Since the beginning of my project the radar mast and associated parts have been a great source of concern since it seemed impossible to get reliable information about the actual size and measurements of these items. With the publication on the small combatants FB group of a dimensional plan of the early radar mast I was finally able to figure out all relevant measurements and produce a fairly accurate replica.
Here a in progress picture, the mast is also well underway....[:-cheers-:]
Thanks again for making this possible!!
