I agree. When the Ling was turned over in 1972, she was a fully functioning Submarine, having just been struck in December 1971. Who knows how long she will stay there. Very sad.

Hi all, I'm still around and just finally finished the 624 boat for that dusty What If reunion. New photos soon. This is a sad thing to hear about the Ling. Growing up only 10 miles from her I remember when she opened to the public. I also remember the Model Shipways factory / store not far from there where you could go in and purchase bags of metal fitting for only a few dollars !! Bring back the good old days. Florida Frank and I have talked about that place many times with fond memories.
