» Topic: Italeri PI-108 Torpedo Tube Question
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=4268

A question regarding the kit supplied torpedo warheads with the restraining assembly: how far did the warheads of a Mark 8 extend beyond the end of the tube? The kits parts seem excessive but I haven't found any drawings that would show the tip of the warhead when the torpedo is in the tube.

Thanks in advance for any help. Always reading others posts and searching to learn more on my PT projects.

David,
See here.

They do look like they extend a little too much. I would trim the restraining strap brackets a little and maybe slot the tube rim to push them back just a bit. The main problem being that they look under diameter because of the wall thickness of the tube. There are some 3D printed ones available which look better in this respect. The tube rims are not accurate either though. There are quite a few things you could improve on the tubes easily if you are looking for accuracy.

Best Regards,
Stu.
