The Puget Sound Navy Museum‚s newest exhibit, „Patrol Boats on Puget Sound,‰ features the little-known story of PT boats that came through the Puget Sound region in three waves during World War II.

There were three waves of PT boat activity in Puget Sound during the war:

- In early 1942, four PT boats stationed in Hawaii when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor were shipped to Puget Sound on their way to combat service in Alaska.

- In 1943 and 1944, squadrons 13 and 16 were sent through the region on their way to Alaska.

- In the closing months of the war, 36 boats were transported here for delivery to Russia.

The exhibit features the builders' plaque from PT 24, one of the first PT boats to visit Puget Sound.

"Patrol Boats on Puget Sound" opened March 3, 2017 at the Puget Sound Navy Museum in Bremerton, WA. It will remain on view for two years. For more information, please visit: http://www.pugetsoundnavymuseum.org/temporary/

Megan;
Thanks for the post. I am sure the exhibit will be a success, and John Akin's PT 24 builders plate is a nice artifact for you to show.
Thanks again,
Take care,
TED
