While some subjects are beaten to death, others are worth revisiting because something new might be uncovered. I have approached this subject before with a few of you, but still have no idea how this organization actually worked in regards to PT BOATS. To me all it has always been is another obscure government entity. I have never even come across anyone who says they worked for this outfit.
Using Al and John Lambert's research in Allied Coastal Forces, in the Pacific, one can see as for 80' ELCO's that PT 187, 190, 191, 195, 318, 319, 326, 328,332,333, 366, and all surviving boats of RON 24,25,27,28,33, 36, 37, 38, 40 were all actually sold in May 1946 by the State Departments Office of Foreign Liquidation Commission (US Navy). That totals 115 boats! Where did all of these boats go? I have an idea, many hulls were stripped of engines and became houseboats in the Philippines(much like the surviving MTB's in England today), but I have yet to find any evidence. Some maybe became inter island supply boats and water taxi's/ferry's. Others maybe fishing boats.

Along these lines I have just read in" Breaking with the Past: The Maritime Customs Service and the Global Origins of Modernity in China"By Hans Van de Ven (on page 288) that in October 1945, Mr. Ding Guitang, Director of Shanghai Customs, negotiated /requested with the US NAVY for 2 Rescue/Salvage ships, 2 buoy tenders, 2 survey ships, 2 coastal patrol ships, 2 minesweepers and 6 smaller vessels, able to navigate the Yangtze River. Might these 6 vessels been Ex-PT Boats to help thwart Pirates and Smugglers? I don't know.

Thanks to Chip Marshall, I also know at least 2 PT Boats(1 ELCO and 1 Higgins) were "given" to Taiwan, for CIA "Black Bag" work.
