Can anyone point me in the right direction for the colors of the Mk 17 Twin Mount Cradle and the 50 cal Browning Machine Guns?

I just received my 1:12 version of these parts from Shapeways in Black High Definition Acrolate.

The guns were mostly parkerized which at the time was an almost black satin finish. The barrel tips were chrome and slid in a bronze bearing. This Higgins photo shows it well: http://www.pt103.com/images/ptpics/Higgins_Turret_Color.jpg.

The mounts were mostly the same color as the turrets. The grips at the rear were rubber and the support rods were unpainted on short sections where the mount slid on them with the recoil. Here's a shot of PT 107 in various sizes: http://www.history.navy.mil/our-collections/photography/numerical-list-of-images/nhhc-series/nh-series/80-G-K-13000/80-G-K-13627.html.

From what looks to be the same series of images with the color enhanced:

Ted pointed out that at the helm of the 107 is one of our favorite They Were Expendable stars, Henry / Robert Montgomery!

You're welcome Derek.

Does anyone know more about the Higgins image? I'm wondering if it is at MTBSTC because of the carriage brake handle painted yellow.

Jeff;
That is an early boat, I think this is from that color set of RON 13, in Panama spring/summer 1943. Same time frame as film footage showing P39 Aircobra's mock attacking them.
Take care
