Hello,
I'm new to this forum and while my main interest if in AAF rescue boats, I want to monitor this site as there were some basic common parts, such as the Packard engines and the 50 cals. I have put a link on my website to this site. To see what is on my site, go to http://www.uscrashboats.org You will find photos, design drawings, the history of crash boats and much more.

I'm retired and have been researching crash boats for a little over a year. I think from my site that you will see that I've been busy.

Hi Carlos,
I sent you an email at the info@uscrashboats.org concerning sending you copies of the Packard Operators Manual.

Welcome Carlos!

I would be very interested in any information you might have concerning the Crash Boat Hickman Sea Sleds used by the Army from WW1 thru WW2.

Andy,

I'm not familiar with the term Sea Sled or Hickam as a manufacturer. Prior to WW II the Army did not do much above the local level for air sea rescue. Are you referring to the 18' swamp gliders? You can go to my website uscrashboats.org to see what I have on ASR boats, but it is mostly 42' to 104' boats. It covers their history, design, construction, training, search methods, operators manual, etc.

Please let me know what you have on these boats and I will research them; size; where used; etc.

Hi Carlos.

Nice website!

I like the drawings of packard engine you have, and sure I will also use the Swamp Glider drawings to do a nice model.

Best regards

Luis

I'm glad you like the Packard engine drawings, but I can't take the credit. I got them from www.PTBoat.com and they were drawn by John Drain.
