http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=4053

Has anyone ever thought about finding a way to bringing the Higgins boats from argentina over to America for a restoration?
it is something that has been on my mind, and it would be a great addition to the boats we already have.
currently there are four, PT-801 ara towwora, pt-804? Leonardo da vinci, and pt-805? cuidad de mar de plata, and don luis sunk in very shallow water.
I know this is a crazy idea, I was just curious to know if anyone has at least thought of this.

Yes there are three in Argentina . The one in the video interior striped used for canoe storage, one at the mouth of the Plat river beached and striped and one tour boat. We have contacted the Argentine gov. about part exhaust ports gun rings ect. They say they want to restore one day.

I'm assuming that don Luis would be a lost cause at this point, it's been in shallow water upside down for some years now.

PT Boats currently right here in New York. We need someone to step forward and purchase PT-486, or PT-48. We have two Higgins PT BOATS , one already running and one set to. It's about time we got an Elco up and running............

I agree frank, I would definitely want to see 486 and 615 set sail.
