Yugoslavian Type 108(78' Higgins copies)

While Nic raised the question, I found a Russian site that is loaded with photos of the Yugoslavian Type 108 motor torpedo boat. as I stated in an earlier post, they built 75-90 boats, which were duplicates of the ex RON 15
(201, 203, 204,207-209 211,213 217), which were designated MT 1- MT 8. which they received from the British in August 1945. As I wrote in the earlier post: "All RON 15 originals were reported scrapped by 1966. The Yugoslavians copied the design and called it the Type 108 and built around 75-96 boats built in the shipyards on the island of Korčula . Two of these copies were sold to Cambodia in 1965 and renamed VR-1 and VR-2 they were reportedly sunk by Khmer Rouge forces in 1975. 3 more were reportedly sold to Cyprus around 1971-72. Al even received some photos showing that one showed up in a Malta boatyard between 1990-99. apparently it was involved in smuggling, probably weapons or medical supplies as many boats were intercepted doing this, usually from the east coast of Italy, during Bosnian War. I saw several intel photos in 1999 of soviet style cold war torpedo and missile boats and also what I thought were sunken Higgins hulls near the island of Vis. They were near island caves. This is how they hid their boats, jus like the Greeks did/do with their Nasty's and later MTBs.

In 1965 Yugoslavia sold two Type 108's to the Cambodian government, but they did not sell them any torpedoes. They were reportedly sunk by Khmer Rouge forces in 1975.

The stern of the converted 152 Teuta does not look like a Higgins style configuration. Some of their later boats had a bridge very similar to the later PTF boats. Curious if the Yugo's powered their boats with Packards?

These are interesting pictures, I didn't know until recently that they even made a copy of the Higgins design.
It's also interesting to note that in another picture I saw they had the engines farther up than on the Higgins models.
I guess the ward room and officers bunks were taken from the design.
