I am trying to find someone that will be heading out to College Park during the following month. I need the logbooks pulled, if they exist, on Pt Boats 201 and 202. They were both detached from RON 15 during the Anzio operation and performed special duties for the 5th Army.

I need the December 1943, and January/February 1944 logs pulled and scanned if possible. If anyone is interested, please email me at: artur_stasiek@aol.com. I can provide a stipend for the job.

Artur,

I'm sorry to say that there are no log books for the Ron 15 boats. Only a Ron War Diary and the Ron Action Reports. Lord knows I wish they were there.

That is not to say that info does not exist somewhere in the Archives regarding the 201 & 202. I might be able to help though. Are you looking for general info or more detailed stuff ?

From the Ron 15 War Diary. I've been meaning to answer Artur for months.

1Dec1943 - 201 & 202 at Maddalena
17Dec - 201 & 202 depart Maddalena for Naples
25Dec - Dispatch received that both 201 & 202 "suffered casualties to their
auxiliary generators"

2Jan1944 - Dispatch from COM8THPHIB stating 202 returning from Naples
for repairs.
15Jan - 202 arrived Maddalena from Naples
28Jan - Dispatch received from CTB 81 stating 201 hit by shell fire
( USS SWAY incident with General Mark Clark aboard 201 ).
1Feb - 201, 212, 216, 218 at Naples.
7Feb - 201 being sent to Bizerta for repairs
10Feb - 201 arrives Palermo from Ischia
14Feb - 217 arrives Naples from Maddalena
15Feb - 201 arrives Bizerta from Naples arae
17Feb - 202 on mission no.163. See Action Report No. 25 ( encounter
with German destroyers )
29 Feb - 202 arrives Maddalena from Bastia
