A grandchild of a PT Torpedo man is interested in traveling to the Solomons and re-tracing his grandfather’s steps from New Caledonia-to-Tulagi-to-Rendova-to Lever Harbor-to Treasury Island. His grandfather was a PT crewman in RON 9 from it's inception to about April 1944.

Any one been there in the last 2-3 years. I have already contacted Jack Duncan for his suggestions and details; any one else?

By coincidence I was checking on flights from Knoxville, TN,. to Honoria, Gudadalcana, in the last few days. Depending on the airline and the dates, the cost was around $3,500.00 per person. In looking into accommodations most people suggested staying on Gizo, the hotels there being better than Honoria.

I hope this helps.

To understand the present, and to hope to comprehend the future, you have to first understand the past. Without history, there is no context upon which to base any understanding.

Pass on I suggest they check Airbnb for lodging accommodations in this area.
Take care,
