Of keel shoes, hull fittings and zinc plates...
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=4004
Hi everyone, I completed the rear lover hull, including center propeller plate and rudder fairing plates as per elco drawing 3178. The keel shoe needs still some filng to get the final shape, jumpers and connecting plates will be added after that.
If the keel shoe is acting as a ground strip also it should be left free of paint/antifouling media, but this picture would suggest that this was not the case on 80' elcos;that would be perfect because it would allow me to skip adding screw head detail to the keel shoe, everything would convenientely disappear under 3 coats of coperoid.
(note also the heavy stain from the crew wash basin outlet).
Does anyone have conclusive info on this?
Zinc plates are a detail I'd really like to add, however elco plans don't show them fitted on PT 103-196.Does anybody know if they were backfitted?
Regards.

You got to love Daniele's work. As its scale size of 1:16 will enable all sorts of great details we can do on smaller PT models!
