Well, after nearly three years of " very good luck " I have been able keep hackers away - - but sadly they got in last night and damaged the board and its history. Hopefully the last couple of weeks of new posts will able to be recovered as well as older material. Only some time will tell what I can come up with.

Please be aware that new posts made during this repair/recovery period might be lost, while I'm using live files and directories. At this point I'm not sure how long it will take to recover, maybe a day or two.

All the best,
Dick . . . .

PS: [:-good-:] Maybe it was the recent 109 posts!!! [:-bigeyes2-:]

I have " Banned " a total of 31 IP Addresses that came into the site from Midnight to 3:00 am. They were known forum hackers. This might make them even more malicious, not sure!

If your IP has rejected your posting, because of my ban, contact me and I'll resolve the issue. There is always a possibility your IP Address was "Spoofed" by the hackers.

Before you email, go to Google Search and type in "what is my ip address". Your address will displayed, copy it and include it in your email to me.

Or just click on this link: https://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en#newwindow=1&hl=en&q=what+is+my+ip+address

Very sorry for any inconvenience,
Thanks,
Dick . . .

Ugh. Good luck Dick, I hope you are able to fix the damage. I'm sorry you will have to spend so much time for no good reason.

Thank you very much for all the volunteered effort you put into this history site.

Its almost there, still a few quirky happenings, not sure why . . . still working on the issue.

I see two posts are missing one from Jerry Gilmartin replying to this topic ("Attention All . . ." and one from Ted Walther replying to the "1/72 roll off racks . . .". Gentlemen if you would please repost the message if you remember what you wrote.

Thanks all,
Dick . . . .

Hi Dick,
I dont even remember posting something about this topic, My last post was telling Randy that I think the new mufflers look fantastic on the PT305 photos he posted. No big deal. Thanks for your expertise!

I have repaired and/or replaced items deleted during the hack attack and have recovered nearly all of the older historical posts. I'm completely stumped how they do or did their nasty deeds. The only part I haven't been able to reconstruct is the far right column that reports the "Reply" posters name date and change on each post. Luckily that has little to do with the contents, just basic user info.

The next area to be cleaned up is the Members Roster which now indicates 33,590 members. I believe it was last January when I cleaned out over 28,000 members, but now the number is back up and larger. These are legitimate sign-up but mainly by eager spammers wishing to post all types of unsavory material or ads. Since they need legitimate email address or need to go and check their emails to access they go no further than becoming a member, and its too much work to carry on.

I will let the board know when i start deleting member names and hopefully not any active members. If I do delete anyone's membership, simply email me and I get you member name and password reestablished.

All the best,
Dick . . .

Thanks again,
