Here is a link of a brief promo video of the book 'PT 109' that includes William F. 'Bud' Liebenow, Skipper of the PT-157 that rescued the crew of the PT 109, filmed at his home last month.

Looks good!

Some old salts may need to gently apprise Mr. Doyle of some naval terminology, though...the 109 was a "boat," but the Amagiri was a ship (not a "boat"), and it was a lot bigger than "two or three times" the size of the 109! [:-happy2-:]

I'm sure I'll end up buying a copy -- congratulations on its publlication, Mr. Doyle.

Might tell him to that it wasn't exactly a "battle". You'd have thought he would picked up a least a little of the correct terminology from Bud Liebenow, or just though his research. I hope that's not a preview of his writing style in this book.

To understand the present, and to hope to comprehend the future, you have to first understand the past. Without history, there is no context upon which to base any understanding.
