An article in the July 1944 Motor Boating magazine mentions Bulkeley in the Med:

A Higgins ad on the inside front cover mentions post war plans for a Higgins helicopter. Elco has an ad on page 26. Ads from Annapolis Yacht Yard and Harbor Boat Building mention PTs, and several other ads feature PT boats. I also enjoyed seeing the old graceful designs of all sorts of boats.

Yes the jack of all trades was there too. At the time he was CO of USS Edicott (DD495) during Operation Dragoon.
