Is there a source for JUST the 37mm cannon? The Italeria one leaves a bit to be desired. Specifically the magazine. Should be able to see through it,

What did you folks who used the kit parts do to make it more life like?

Greetings,
I think the CMK type M3 anti tank gun is a step up over the Italeri design. The kit number is RA041 and you can still find them around. These are resin kits and the parts look pretty good. I have one in my collection in case I decide to build a 1/35 109. Don't anyone hold your breath for that one! Also if you're a believer that the gun still had its tires on this kit gets you there.

Dave:

Looking for the M4 cannon, the standard 37 MM cannon. I have the 596 kit.

BUT, thank you for the information on the M3 AT cannon.

Well, Stu Hurley scratch built his own magazine and did a wonderful job with it. Patrick Matthews has done a very nice job with CAD drawings for the M4 but so far he has not released it on Shapeways in 1/35. Only larger scales. If he does release it in 1/35 I'll be buying a few myself. Kitty hawk models has released a 1/32 Airacobra but it's going to be a little too large of course. That's about all I'm aware of.

I know this post is about a 1/35th scale M3 37 mm gun, but...

For those interested in the gun in 1/72nd scale, the best-looking representation I've seen by far is the one that comes in the S-Model jeep & gun combo kit # PS720047.

I believe S-Model is a Chinese company, and I've seen this kit go for $11-$12 on Ebay, with $8 shipping.

The build-up photos I've seen make this 37 mm gun an excellent addition to a Revell 1/72nd scale build of "The Boat That Must Not Be Named," as its been called lately [:-lookhappy-:].

Bronco might do it in a kit with a jeep
