» Topic: Revell PT-109 crew figures-a humorous take
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=3857

I was painting the crew figures for my Revell PT-109 model, and was struck by something rather humorous about them.

I've always been puzzled by the poses that some of the figures were molded in, and wondered what they would be saying or doing if they existed in real life:

The 20 mm gunner figure is the most puzzling one of all- it's not gripping anything, or appearing to be engaged in anything remotely connected to the operation of a 20 mm cannon. So I made up my own explanation:

"Skipper, I'm telling you, the grouper was THIS big!"

Lt. Kennedy's pose:

"No, Mauer- your OTHER left!"

The helmsman:

"She started talking about marriage, and I said, Whoa- let's slow waaaaay down on the marriage talk!"

The .50 caliber machine gunner:

" I may be only half a man, but I can still take you- put 'em up!!"

Happy Independence Day, and "may the Fourth be with you!"

The twin-.50 turret gunner, echoing Ronald Reagan's character's famous line in the movie "King's Row:"

"Where's the rest of me?"
