» Topic: Trying to Identify Ron 4 photo. Maybe PT-172 skipper?
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=3843

Hi All,

I'm trying to find out if this photo is of PT-172's LT Stuart Hamilton USNR. This is a Ron 4 period photo, I believe about Nov 1942. The gent in the photo is a LT(jg).

Thanks for any assistance!

Cheers,
Andy

Andy;
I suggest you contact PTHQ and ask if they have any photos of Stuart Hamilton.
Take care,

I'm down in Germantown this week (3rd such visit) and managed to positively identify the officer as LTJG Stuart Hamilton! My primary interest is that he was the first skipper of the Huckins PT-101 and in a whole pile of the photos. Of note is that he was relieved by JFK on 7 Dec 1942. Later LTJG Hamilton was the skipper of PT 172, one of the zebra stripped RON 10 boats that survive the SS Stanvac Manila sinking.

I strongly encourage all to support the PT Boat Archives and make maximum use of this tremendous asset we have.

Cheers,
Andy
