I was curious as to where the torpedo cranks were stored on the 77 Foot Elco PT BOATS. To tell you the truth, I have never seen a photo of them on one of the boats, except the 80 footers. Stan made two of them for our PT-61 project, but we are not sure where to place them............

Probably a question for Al. I looked through "Early Elco PT Boats" that he and Bob Ferrell wrote, but didn't see anything obvious.

Hi Frankie . . .

The torpedo cranks were evidently stored in the Chart room and Engine room, where they were attached to extension tubes extending from torpedo training bracket and the crank bearing installed in the sides of the cabin walls. The extension tubes were stored on the exterior cabin grab rails (as shown in a photo from earlier post). In one of the photos posted by Jerry, shows the hand crank and installed bearing in the mid-lower right side of the Chart room photo. Much of this can be seen in photos and sketches made in an earlier post from October 2014.
