» Topic: Aluminum Engine Beds in 77 Footers?
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=3824

While looking through some of the BuShips reports on the 77' class, I noticed a follow up letter to the CNO (August 11, 1941) concerning the PT-20 Acceptance Trials. The list of action items mentioned that: "The substitution of aluminum engine beds in lieu of the wooden type is being accomplished in future boats."

I was wondering if anyone had information on if this particular modification to the 77' construction, or if this modification actually transpired in the final batch of this series?
