» Topic: Subic Bay PTs
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=3809

I was talking with a Marine over the weekend who told me that when he was at Subic Bay during his time in Nam in the mid to late 1960s, there were a half dozen or so PTs up on blocks at the Navy base. He said one of the Navy guys told him they had been sitting there since the end of the war. I was wondering if anyone could confirm this and even better, if there are any photos of these out there.

Roy;
I know PTF's worked out of Subic prior to going to Vietnam and without photos, we don't know if he meant PTF's or PT's. There are photos at www.warboats.org of the boats at Subic, the PTF's were painted Navy Green.
Take care,
TED

Thanks Ted. He just said they were left over from the war and were high and dry. I did ask him if he thought they might have been PTFs or something else but he said the Navy guy definitely said they were old PTs.

There was a repair facility for PTF's located at the South East end of Subic Bay, Two types were there Wooden 82'ers by Trumphy & Sons and the Aluminum Osprey Class boats pictured in the water and wooden Trumphy's in cradles.
