My best guess at the (unspecified in Elco drawings) scallop spacing:

Thanks Stu, it was a part I'd been putting off because of the PIA factor.

Judging by your 195 images Italeri did a good job replicating it. Or did you modify the kit part?

Jeff,
I am afraid to say It needed a bit of loving care. I used the rail from 2 kits to make one complete set.

Best Regards,
Stu.

Wow, then good job. I can't remember seeing a model kit, or modeler get it so right before. You even got the right number of scallops before and after the spliced section! [:-cheers-:]

Stu, you're telling me I need two kits to make one set of rails? Sounds like it might be time to make a mold. :-)

Dave,
Either that or scratchbuild sections like I did with the 109.
I had PT 596 as a doner kit for other things, although I have used surprisingly little. I used the extra rails I got from that.
Thanks Jeff,
I had to get the scallops right as there is a high probability of someone counting them
A bit of extra contouring and job done.

Best Regards,
Stu.
