Hello Guy's
have started to build the spray shield for the 174 from a couple of pic's I have ( thanks Will ). i realy could do with some more as I can't make out what the front of this shield looks like. I'm having to guess the size & placing at the moment as info seems a bit scares on this.
Also any other Pic's of the PT174 would realy help in the final stages of the build.
My next job is to scratch build the torpedo tubes after the shield.
Coastal forces plans have been a great help so far. Post some more pic's soon.

Muddy;

I have been raiding other websites of their pics in my endeavor to have a pic of as many boats as possibele.

PT 171 org has a ton of them. I have quite a few as well. Would you want me to post them here or should I just email them to you?

I use the Photobucket.com website to post.

My pictures of the 174 boat do not show the zebra stripews. However the 170 and 171 boat do.

Thanks Gary
You have also just answered another question I was going to post later. In was the zebra pattern only on the sides. in the pic of the boats on the transport ship it shows the answer.
If you want to post them where is best for you is ok with me. If you want to send any to me my email is
nicola.shaun@tesco.net
Be a while yet before I'm ready for painting.

Hello Gary
Forgot to say that any pic of the PT174 will be helpful as I have still a lot of work to do.
Even better if they show the shield that was infront of the 40mm gun.
I have a side on pic & a nice close up that Will sent me but still could use more reference on this.
once again Thanks

Gary,

Thanks for posting those great PT shots.

BTW, I'm pretty sure the white stripes on those those zebra-striped PTs were over-painted green when in the forward areas, leaving the non-black stripes kind of yellowish-green-looking.

There are several rare photos of the results of the friendly-fire strafing incident of the zebra-striped Ron 10 boats on July 20th, 1943 by USAAF B-25s in Victor Chun's book "American PT Boats In World War II," showing the burning PT 166. Ensign Barney Ross, the friend of JFKs who hitched a ride on PT 109 the night she was rammed and sunk, was the exec of the zebra-striped 166.
