» Topic: Italeri PT-109 Crew release
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=3691

Well, here it is. Italeri has released their 109 crew set. We have a variety of officers and enlisted with an assortment of head wear from fatigue hats to pith helmets. There's also some nice accessories from duffle bag to holstered guns to canteens.

If you were looking for a boat crew in combat this isn't what you were hoping for. But I have to say I think you can do a lot with this set with a boat at rest. Here are the photos from the Italeri web site. Thanks Italeri for supporting the PT Boat community!

A great start when you consider we had nothing. I can see Italeri coming out with more. Thanks Dave for your persistence in this matter, now the Elco 77 Footer............

My good friends at Italeri sent me samples of the 109 crew set along with their new Vosper crew set. They arrived today. They look pretty good. At first glance it looks like you could get a couple of sets and mix and match the body parts to get different figures. My wife likes the figure without a shirt. Go figure. They should be hitting the US before too long.

I ordered from Hannants here in the UK they were shipped yesterday.

In the pics above they look a little dumpy but once I get my hands on them I'll give my opinion.

And yes I'm still plodding on with my two builds.

Hi,
Just got mine. Initial reaction is that they lack a bit of definition and a couple of the faces are a bit weird, but they are a good starting point. The hands aren't bad. The poses are O.K and they are a welcome addition to the relatively few available figures that can be used with a PT boat. You can always mix and match with others for variety.

Best Regards,
Stu.

For modelers interested in 1/72 scale figures, the CMK submarine crew figures look quite good. A few sets came with the Revell Gato I bought on eBay. I'll post photos... um... when I figure out how to post photos.
